About The Owner
Doranda Mwende Martin
Born in the Bronx, NYC, Doranda’s creative journey began at a very young age through a strong desire and intention to become a fashion designer. It was not until the community college she attended abandoned its fashion design program, her creative process was then expressed through dance. With guidance and training from choreographer and instructor, Krenly Guzman, she eventually transitioned onto her independent path of voluntarily teaching dance in a few Oxnard community centers. Throughout the years, she choreographed and performed in local Oxnard events whilst working as the Director of Artistic Programming at the NEMA dance studio just shortly before closing down. Thus, a direct need for another creative outlet came from opening The CreArtive Freedom Family nonprofit studio.
